International Advances in Economic Research Magazine
International Advances in Economic Research (IAER) was established to promote the dissemination of economic and financial research within the international community. Founded in 1995 by the International Atlantic Economic Society, a need was identified to provide the latest research on todays economic policies and tomorrows economic and financial conditions. Economists can no longer be concerned with professional developments only in their home country. Research by scholars in one country can easily have implications for other countries, yet often vital results are not shared. Economic restructuring in a shrinking world demands close analysis and careful interpretation. In IAER, authors from around the globe look at these issues, coming together in the cross-fertilization of multinational ideas. The journal provides economists, financial specialists, and scholars in related disciplines with much-needed opportunities to share their insights with worldwide colleagues. Policy-oriented, empirical, and theoretical research papers in all economic and financial areas are welcome, without regard to methodological preferences or school of thought. All manuscripts are submitted to a double-blind, peer review process.In addition to formal publication of full-length articles, IAER provides an opportunity for less formal communication through its Research Notes section. A small point may not be worthy of a full-length, formal paper but is important enough to warrant dissemination to other researchers. Research in progress may be of interest to other scholars in the field. A research approach ending in negative results needs to be shared to save others similar pitfalls. Research Notes has been established to facilitate this form of communication. The section provides a means by which short manuscripts of less than 200 words can quickly appear in IAER. Ecology of Freshwater Fish Magazine
The journal publishes original articles on all aspects of fish ecology and fishery sciences in lakes, rivers and estuaries, including ecologically oriented studies of behaviour, genetics and physiology and the conservation, development and management of recreational and commercial fisheries. Reports of studies examining ecological questions in an evolutionary framework are published as well, including research papers addressing evolutionary ecology, behavioral ecology, population ecology, and population biology. Papers dealing with the life stages of anadromous and catadromous species in estuaries and inshore coastal zones are also published if they contribute to the general understanding of fish biology. Theoretical papers and studies of impact assessment and modeling are published if they generate testable hypotheses about real systems (fish communities, populations and/or species) or if published data are re-analysed to produce novel conclusions or syntheses. Research papers, short communications and review articles are published based on their scientific content. The journal defines language education as mother-tongue education, the teaching of the standard language or national language education. It deals, for instance, with the common issues of the teaching of French in France and Belgium to francophones, English in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong to anglophones and Spanish in Spain and Argentina to `hispanophones, Catalan in Catalonia. The Journal furthermore deals with L1-education primarily, although very aware of the circumstance that in most learning groups in the world, students are bilingual. Second-language teaching and learning issues will be dealt with in an integrative manner.Divided as we are by our distinct languages and cultures, we share a common concern: the quality of the teaching and learning of language and literature in L1. Throughout the world, education systems face major challenges. Societal demands for literacy and communicative competence increase while at the same time, school populations become ever more culturally and linguistically diverse. In response to these trends, many countries have examples of promising research and development in the learning and teaching of mother-tongue education....in splendid isolation. We argue that national work in the improvement of language education can profit enormously from international exchange. Hence, this journal aims to create an international forum for research and discussion on the teaching and learning of language and literature.L1-education ranges from kindergarten to adult education. It encompasses the learning of the written code and the teaching of oracy.
