Perspectives on Global Development and Technology Magazine
Perspectives on Global Development and Technology (PGDT) is a new peer-reviewed journal for the discussion of current social science research on diverse socioeconomic development issues that reflect the profoundly altered opportunities and threats wrought by the bipolar to global world order shift, the present monopoly of economic liberalization that constricts development options, and the new enabling technologies of the Information Age.Each of these broad thematic discontinuities is littered with complex ambiguities that warrant serious intellectual investigation and reflection. At least once a year, a theme issue will focus on a specific topic or area. PGDT strives to be noted for stimulating conceptual clarity and empirical measurements on the most knotty issues before us concerning socioeconomic development. In-depth case studies, comparative studies, generation and critiques of aggregate datasets, and analyses of trend data constitute the type of research that academicians and practitioners of development can expect in each quarterly issue.PGDT is a global round table, a research journal in print and electronic format with a discussion forum. Readers will have the opportunity to debate issues raised in new articles via the journals web site with authors of articles and with other readers. Similar discussions will occur between book authors, the reviewers whose pieces are published in the journal, and other readers.PGDT is aimed at those intellectuals whose focus is in part on how the ground has shifted appreciably under the field and practice of development over the last several years. .
