International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science & Technology Magazine
Mathematics is pervading every study and technique in our modern world, bringing ever more sharply into focus the responsibilities laid upon those whose task it is to teach it. Most prominent among these is the difficulty of presenting an interdisciplinary approach so that one professional group may benefit from the experience of others.The International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology provides a medium by which a wide range of experience in mathematical education can be presented, assimilated and eventually adapted to everyday needs in schools,colleges,polytechnics,universities, industry and commerce. Contributions will be welcomed from lecturers, teachers and users of mathematics at all levels on the contents of syllabuses and methods of presentation. Increasing use of technology is being made in the teaching,learning, assessment and presentation of mathematics today; original and interesting contributions in this new area will be especially welcome. Mathematical models arising from real situations, the use of computers, new teaching aids and techniques also form an important feature. Discussion will be encouraged on methods of widening applications throughout science and technology. The need for communication between teacher and user will be emphasized and reports of relevant conferences and meetings will be included.A novel feature of the journal is the Classroom Notes section. Marine Geophysical Researches Magazine
Marine Geophysical Researches has for a long time been a high quality resource for geophysical data in the deep ocean basins. Over the past years the journal has reflected in its contents the intense international efforts focused on understanding the global mid-ocean ridge system. In addition to this continuing field of study, Marine Geophysical Researches is encouraging submissions for publication from the margins community. Due to the multi-disciplinary nature of many margin studies we wish to emphasize the broad nature of articles that may be considered for submission. Studies of continental margin geophysics, structure, stratigraphy and sediment deposition processes are sought to broaden the focus of Marine Geophysical Researches into this important avenue of research which is continuously receiving increased attention in the worldwide marine community. Given the diversity and complexity of processes in the margins and the relative lack of attention to these in the recent past we anticipate major ground breaking advances in this sphere over the next several years. Naturally, we still welcome submission of papers dealing with new techniques for imaging the deep sea floor and the development of new tools for measuring the physical properties of sediments and rocks in continental and oceanic plate margins, as well as ridge settings.We trust that scientists in these fields find Marine Geophysical Researches a natural home for their work, allowing its wide and timely dissemination to the community at large. We accept for publication: original research papers, research notes and preliminary papers, papers on instrumentation and methods, discussions and concise cruise reports are welcome.
