Oikos is a journal issued by the Nordic Society OIKOS, and individual subscribers become members of the society. Ecologists from all countries are invited to publish original results on its pages. Oikos is no archive. There is no bias as regards taxon, biome or geographical area. Forum is intended for short notes on new ideas or new ways of interpreting existing information. Opinion is intended to facilitate communication between reader and author and reader and reader. Short comments, viewpoints or suggestions arising from published papers are welcome .
