Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology Magazine
The Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology provides a forum for the basic aspects, theories and mechanisms of adhesion and particularly welcomes contributions dealing with applications of adhesion principles and theories in all areas of technology.The progress in the understanding of mechanisms of bonding and bond failure is a result of the advent of surface-sensitive analytical tools and their application to the study of adhesion problems. This, combined with the advancement of new theories and views on adhesion or adhesion failure, has led to the need for this journal covering both principles and theories and their application in several new areas.The scope of the Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology encompasses, but is not restricted to, the following areas within the purview of adhesion:theories of adhesion,surface energetics,fracture mechanics,development and applications of surface-sensitive methods to study adhesion phenomena,non-destructive methods for bond failure studies,techniques for the measurement of adhesion of thin films, thick films and coatings,surface modification of polymers to improve their adhesion,mechanisms and studies of coupling agents,adhesive joints,wood bonding,adhesion aspects of composite materials,biomedical materials,structural adhesives,paints and coatings (e.g. in relation to corrosion control),adhesion aspects in microelectronics,adhesion of lithographic materials,metallized plastics,rubber and elastomer adhesion,adhesion of aerospace materials. Original research papers or short communications on any of the above mentioned aspects are accepted. In addition, the journal publishes review articles pertaining to mechanisms or theories of adhesion and on adhesion aspects in certain areas of technological importance. The Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology also publishes a diary on international events related to any aspect of adhesion science and plans to highlight institutions which have a concentrated activity dealing with adhesion.
