The essential journal for Norwegian geographic research. Encompasses physical and human geography.Norsk Geografisk Tidsskrift - Norwegian Journal of Geography, published since 1926, is a continuation of Norsk Geografisk Aarbog (1889-1921) and is associated with the Norwegian Geographical Society.The journal reflects the many facets of geography and tries to take an all-round geographic view, both regionally and thematically, by striking a equal balance between physical and human geographic material. Primarily the journal aims at presenting Norwegian geographic research directed towards the problems and areas with and in which Norwegian researchers are working.In addition, the journal publishes articles by foreign authors, dealing with geographic themes based on studies in Norway or articles concerning geographic conditions of interest to Norwegian geographers.From 1 January 1999, Norsk Geografisk Tidsskrift - Norwegian Journal of Geography changed editorship. The editors are:Bernd Etzelmüller with special responsibility for geomorphology, glaciology, geocryology, geographical information technology and remote sensing. Mary Edwards with special responsibility for biogeography, landscape ecology, paleoecology and climate-related studies. Michael Jones with special responsibility for human geography. Themes related to the geography of Norway, the Nordic countries and adjacent regions, including polar environments, are of special interest, but relevant topics dealing with other parts of the world are included.In addition, research notes, short articles, including some of special interest for teachers of geography, reviews of Norwegian doctoral theses in geography, and other book reviews will be published in a separate section of the journal.All articles are refereed by two independent reviewers. . Qualitative research reports that employ sophisticated research designs (e.g. MANOVAs linear modeling) and qualitative research reports that rigorously follow naturalistic research methods are preferred. One or two variable tests employing simple inferential statistics (e.g. ANOVA or ANCOVA) and poorly described and argued qualitative research are discouraged. International Advances in Economic Research Magazine
International Advances in Economic Research (IAER) was established to promote the dissemination of economic and financial research within the international community. Founded in 1995 by the International Atlantic Economic Society, a need was identified to provide the latest research on todays economic policies and tomorrows economic and financial conditions. Economists can no longer be concerned with professional developments only in their home country. Research by scholars in one country can easily have implications for other countries, yet often vital results are not shared. Economic restructuring in a shrinking world demands close analysis and careful interpretation. In IAER, authors from around the globe look at these issues, coming together in the cross-fertilization of multinational ideas. The journal provides economists, financial specialists, and scholars in related disciplines with much-needed opportunities to share their insights with worldwide colleagues. Policy-oriented, empirical, and theoretical research papers in all economic and financial areas are welcome, without regard to methodological preferences or school of thought. All manuscripts are submitted to a double-blind, peer review process.In addition to formal publication of full-length articles, IAER provides an opportunity for less formal communication through its Research Notes section. A small point may not be worthy of a full-length, formal paper but is important enough to warrant dissemination to other researchers. Research in progress may be of interest to other scholars in the field. A research approach ending in negative results needs to be shared to save others similar pitfalls. Research Notes has been established to facilitate this form of communication. The section provides a means by which short manuscripts of less than 200 words can quickly appear in IAER. Formal Methods in System Design Magazine
The focus of this journal is on formal methods for designing, implementing, and validating the correctness of hardware (VLSI) and software systems. The stimulus for starting a journal with this goal came from both academia and industry. In both areas, interest in the use of formal methods has increased rapidly during the past few years. The enormous cost and time required to validate new designs has led to the realization that more powerful techniques must be developed. A number of techniques and tools are currently being devised for improving the reliability, and robustness of complex hardware and software systems. While the boundary between the (sub)components of a system that are cast in hardware, firmware, or software continues to blur, the relevant design disciplines and formal methods are maturing rapidly. Consequently, an important (and useful) collection of commonly applicable formal methods are expected to emerge that will strongly influence future design environments and design methods.The journal is an international forum for the dissemination of research related to the application and development of formal methods in both hardware (VLSI) and software system design. International Journal of Imaging Systems and Technology Magazine
As imaging science/technology matures, it becomes clear that it is more than an assorted collection of methods and devices, each invented for a specific application. It is striking that the same ideas are used in such allegedly diverse fields as medical tomography and astronomy, in searching for patterns in radar images, as well as in quality control in the textile industry. What seems to be a fundamental unifying feature in all aspects of imaging is the brains (still not well-understood) ability to parallel process an image and to simultaneously receive an array of data which would be impossible if received in numerical form. Some devices and algorithms are successful precisely because they strive to imitate or exploit this ability.Hence, there is a need for a forum that can be used by people working on new principles of imaging, its various hardware and software aspects, algorithms and their derivations and their applications. The International Journal of Imaging Systems and Technology fills this need. It emphasizes unified approaches to various applications. By bringing together ideas and people working in different fields, the Journal hopes to encourage interaction and cross-fertilization.Imaging is a multidisciplinary area. Hence, the International Journal of Imaging Systems and Technology welcomes papers authored by physicists, mathematicians, engineers, statisticians, computer scientists, as well as end users–radiologists, geologists, astronomers. The scope of the Journal includes, but is not limited to, the following:Acoustical imaging;Biophysical imaging; Computer vision; Cosmological imaging; High definition television; Medical imaging; Microscopy; Multidimensional image processing and tomography; Nuclear and particle physics imaging; Optical imaging and holography; Pattern recognition; Physiological imaging; Radar and synthetic aperture imaging;Seismic and geophysical imaging.
